When a user connects (we happen to be using integrated windows login), and then stops working for a while, the conenction times out - which is quite undertandable

However if the user is in the query tool, they lose the entire query and may have to re-type it when they re-connect. Can anything be done about this?

And a question how to extend the timeout period?
