When I run a query dates come back in the order mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm

On the Preferences->language form is an option for calendar date format which does not seem to affect the displayed date format. Is this a bug or somethig I am doing wrong?

Dates are displayed using the sql server default format.
In the preferences, you can define the format that will be used by the calendar. It has to be set the same than the sql server format so that the calendar can be correctly used.

Hi,

Thanks for response - very fast too.

I think I need some more help though, I have changed the login settings so that the default language is "British" and still get dates in american format. I have also tried using the SET LANGUAGE option, and it still does not change away from american formats, do I have to force the whole SQL server to a new language?

Hi,

Thanks again for the response.

The KB article you refer to is out of date.

My problem is fixed now, the server was re-booted a day ago, and after a complete re-start the setting of the server default lanugage has now worked. I thought that the server had been re-booted after the initial change, but presumably it was not.

Anyway, thnks for the help.
