I guess you did not set your install folder as a web application in IIS.

1. Open your IIS console.
2. Right Click on the myLittleAdmin virtual directory
3. Select Properties
4. Click on "Create" next to the "Application" Label and the textbox.

Note: If you installed myLittleAdmin on a webhosting account and do not have access to the IIS console, then you must use your webhoster control panel (Helm, Plesk, etc...) to do that.

Hi Elian,

Thanks for the quick reply.
I actually took a copy (of mylittleadmin) from a HC7 installation and just dropped it into a web account directly into a visible folder in the web account.
No virtual directory. This is the only site that is/will use MSSQL server, so I didn't want to go through the virtual directory option.

Does it have to be done via a Virtual Dir?

Thanks,

-Sup.

Yes, typical install requires that you use a virtual directory.

Work-around: you can copy the whole content of the myLittleAdmin bin folder (including sub folders) into your website bin folder.

Got it!
I now finally able to see the welcome screen asking for username and password.

Now, I'm hitting the next block.

I am not able to log in.
I'm being prompted:

.Net SqlClient Data Provider

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 41 - Cannot open a Shared Memory connection to a remote SQL server)

What service do I need to enable to make this work?
I have 2005 studio on another machine and I am able to connect remotely, so I'm not sure what does the error mean.
Is there a place where the database name is explicitly named in a config file? I tried logging in with Windows Authentication and also with SQL Server Authentication.
Since this install was copied from a different server, is there a config file that has the 'old server's explicit name and that is why it can't log-in?
It is showing 'localhost' in the greyed out Server Name line.

Thanks,

-Sup.

While on the login page, click on the Options button then choose TCP/IP as network protocol
